One of Hinduism's seven holiest cities, where the Ganga Aarti ceremony illuminates thousands of souls every evening...
Haridwar literally means "Gateway to God." It's one of the four sites of the Kumbh Mela, the largest peaceful gathering on Earth. The Ganga is believed to have descended from heaven here, making every dip in the river spiritually purifying.

The evening ceremony involves chanting, incense, and floating lamps. It's not just a show—it's a deeply spiritual experience where you can offer your own prayers.
Women typically wear traditional clothing to ghats. Photography during Aarti is restricted in some areas to maintain sanctity.
Where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers merge to become Mother Ganga herself—a geographical and spiritual miracle...
Devprayag is where geography meets mythology. The milky-white Alaknanda meets the emerald-green Bhagirathi, and from this union, the Ganga is born. The distinct colors of the two rivers remain visible for some distance before merging completely.
